Use your skills in accounting, business planning, and risk management to lead high-impact projects, support strategic decisions, and help modernize systems that keep Ontario's finances running smoothly.This competition will be used to fill two roles within the Financial Reporting and Fiscal Support Branch: one in the Financial Reporting and Analysis Unit and one in the Financial Reporting Transformation Unit.About the jobWorking as part of a dedicated team, you'll provide senior-level support to improve risk management, ensure policy and financial compliance, and help solve issues with tools and processes, all as part of a collaborative team. Each day may look a little different, but you can expect to:lead the creation and upkeep of risk management policies and processesreview and analyze government proposals and decisions from a financial perspectiveconduct detailed financial analysis and assess risks tied to government programs and budgetsoffer expert advice and insights on risk management and business planningbuild and carry out communication and engagement plans to gather input and support for financial and risk management initiativesWhat you bring to the teamAccounting and business planning knowledgeYou have knowledge of:accounting and financial management principles, practices, and requirementsrevenue/expenditure management principles, internal control/accountability framework mechanisms, reconciliation processes, variance analysis, modern controllership and control/reporting standards and methodologiesYou have the ability to gain knowledge of:governing legislation and ministry/OPS business activitiesgovernment business planning, financial planning, management, control, and administration reporting policies/directivesInterpersonal and communication skillsYou can:develop and deliver presentations and briefings to stakeholders and managementinitiate and manage strong working relationships with colleagues throughout the division, ministry,



and organizationtranslate complex financial and risk management concepts and content into transparent options and recommendationsAnalytical and technical skillsYou can:conduct complex financial analysis and risk assessments of government initiatives and budget proposalsevaluate policy options and analyze the implications of directives or policies on financial management frameworks and operational processes, and provide well-informed recommendations to senior leadershipYou have demonstrated experience with:standard office software (like Microsoft Office), financial reporting tools, and large-scale accounting systems (such as Oracle Financials) to check, understand, and analyze detailed financial information and create clear, accurate financial reportsRisk management knowledgeYou have knowledge of:risk management, performance management and management reporting theories, principles, and best practicesrisk assessment and management to provide leadership to the establishment, implementation, delivery, and sustainability of a risk management mandateDon't meet every qualification?If you are excited about this position and meet most, but not all, of the listed qualifications, please still consider applying.
