This role is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, and maintaining integrated electronic security and low-voltage systems. This position works directly with customers to diagnose system issues, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure systems operate reliably and efficiently. The specialist provides technical expertise for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related integrated systems while delivering a high level of customer service.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic security systemsPerform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspectionsProgram, configure, and commission security and integrated building systemsRespond to service calls and resolve customer issues in a timely mannerDocument service activities, deficiencies, and corrective actionsProvide technical support and training to customersCoordinate with Service Coordinators, Project Managers, and Operations teamsMaintain accurate records, reports, and service documentationFollow all company safety policies and industry standardsSupport installation personnel on project sitesProvide information and support for other contractors on project siteTroubleshoot installation issues during both the startup, commissioning, and servicing of building special systemsProvide input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, installation, start up, commissioning, and training for building systemsEnsure timely software backups are created for projects, service and software developmentProvide service support on existing installations ensuring systems continue to meet existing building occupancy codesProvide service support on existing systems insuring their proper and efficient operation as well as providing ongoing support to the facility's building engineersComplete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely mannerAssist in preparing of as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance ManualsAssist in turnover of projects from Operations Team to Service TeamAssist Sales team during estimating phase including potential product or system demonstrationsWilling and able to be on call for 24-hour emergency service responseParticipate in an on‐call support rotationOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsMust be eligible to obtain Secret Clearance5 years plus of experience in installing and servicing security solutionsProficiency in computer operating systems, including the MS Office Suite of productsExperience with access control, CCTV, intrusion, and integrated security platformsKnowledge of systems such as Genetec, LenelS2, Software House, Avigilon, Bosch, or similar platformsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to work with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, and oscilloscopesCompetence in troubleshooting basic electrical and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagramsClear and concise communication skills, both verbal and writtenPreferred QualificationsVendor Certification in low voltage systems (e.G., LENEL, GENETEC, MILESTONE, AVIGILON, AMAG, Keyscan, Kantech, SENSTAR, HANWHA, BOSCH, DSC, and others)Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent (considered an asset)Strong networking and IP-based systems knowledgeAbility to empathize with others' issues and perceptions and to creatively and effectively work through these issues to achieve successful outcomes and ensure customer and employee satisfactionSalary Range$35.90 – 52.25 (DOE)Vacancy StatusThis posting is for a current and existing vacancyPHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop.
