Senior Glazing Estimator Location: Greater Vancouver / Langley, BC Industry: Commercial Glazing / Architectural Glass & MetalOur client is an established architectural glazing contractor based in the Greater Vancouver area, specializing in commercial, retail, office and high-end architectural glazing projects across North America. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Senior Glazing Estimator to their team. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial glazing and architectural glass projects from initial tender through contract award. This position will work closely with general contractors, architects, suppliers, project managers, drafting and fabrication teams to develop detailed pricing and ensure bids are both commercially competitive and technically sound.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed estimates and tenders for commercial glazing projectsReview architectural drawings, specifications, addenda and bid documentsDevelop accurate material, labour, equipment and subcontractor pricingTake off quantities for curtain wall, storefront, entrances, windows, glass and architectural metal systemsObtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotationsIdentify project scope, exclusions, clarifications and potential risksPrepare detailed proposals and submit competitive bids within deadlinesReview plans and specifications to identify discrepancies, omissions and potential change-order opportunitiesLiaise with general contractors, architects,



suppliers and clients throughout the estimating processAttend pre-bid meetings and participate in project turnover meetingsWork closely with Project Management and Operations to ensure accurate handover of awarded projectsAssist with value engineering and alternative system/product pricing where appropriateMaintain accurate estimating records and pricing databasesMonitor market conditions, material costs and labour requirementsAssist with developing budgets and preliminary estimates for projects at the early design stageSupport the business development team with pricing and proposals when requiredRequirements5+ years of estimating experience within commercial glazing, architectural glass, curtain wall, storefront or a related building-envelope environmentStrong understanding of commercial glazing systems and installation methodsExperience estimating curtain wall, storefront, entrances, windows and architectural glassStrong ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications and construction documentsProven experience preparing competitive bids for commercial construction projectsStrong knowledge of material costs, labour requirements and installation processesExperience with glazing takeoff and estimating softwareStrong mathematical, analytical and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with GCs, suppliers, clients and internal teamsExperience with larger or technically complex commercial projects is highly desirablePreferred ExperienceCandidates with backgrounds in commercial glazing, curtain wall, architectural glass, façade, storefront or building-envelope contracting are encouraged to applyExperience estimating projects from drawings through final proposal, as well as understanding fabrication and installation requirements, would be particularly valuable
