The provision of such nursing care is expected to be within the standards of nursing practice (CNO) and the standards of the nursing unit.The registered nurse is expected to maintain competence and skills through on-going participation in provided continuing education and will be able to demonstrate proof of such participation.



The registered nurse actively participates in CNO quality assurance program.The registered nurse participates in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centered setting and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.Brockville general hospital believes in strongly supporting staff to help them proceed. We offer onsite training for advanced cardiac life support (ACLS, basic life support (BLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS).Requirements:Education and experience:Registered nurse and current member in good standing of the college of nurses of OntarioPost degree operating room course requiredIV certification requiredBCLS required and maintained throughout employmentACLS and PALS certification preferredCritical Care experience within the last two years preferredKnowledge of ORNAC/OPANA/NAPAN standards of practice requiredSkills and abilities:Demonstrated surgical nursing knowledgeDemonstrated good organizational and problem-solving skills in stressful situationsDemonstrated good interpersonal skills with an ability to work well and effectively with a variety of staff, patients and familyGood communication skills, both oral and writtenDemonstrated ability to work well independently with minimal supervisionDemonstrated competence in the administration of medicationAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to accept direction and feedbackGood attendance and availability requiredAbility to work shifts and be on call required
