PENT Indigenous Teacher Education is seeking qualified, Contract Academic Staff to teach the following three credit hour courses during the Winter session of 2027. The instructors will be responsible for content delivery with expectations consistent with offerings of this course within the appropriate department. Qualified candidates must possess strong teaching, communication and organizational skills, and demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness. These courses will be delivered in an online, synchronous format.

12.270 Applied Anthropology

January 5 – March 30, Tuesday Evenings, 5:00 – 8:00 PM The development, theory, methods and approaches of applied or practical socio-cultural anthropology, including the historical development of applied anthropology, the ethical dilemmas of applied fieldwork and the research methods used in such field work. Topics include program planning, needs assessment, social impact, assessment, evaluative research, community development, advocacy, and policy research.

54.275 The Metis

January 6 – March 31, Wednesday Evenings, 5:00 – 8:00 PM An analysis of the development of the Métis as a group, their culture and life styles. Emphasis on the historical significance of the Métis in the development of Western Canada – though the course will evaluate the national role of Métis people.

Qualifications: Applicants should hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in an area related to the topic of instruction.

Salary: $8132.00 per 3 credit hour course
