Job Overview The Accountant supports the CFO and finance department by providing high level analysis of daily and monthly transactions, payroll preparation, preparing various monthly reports and as needed, as well as assisting with a variety of other accounting needs as required by other team members and external accountants. This role helps ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency, adherence to Alberta employment standards, and ethical business practices while promoting a respectful, productive, and positive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparation and administration of bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies operated by Manluk.
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, working papers, inter-company balances, and financial statements for multiple companies operated by Manluk.
- Assisting the CFO in preparation of consolidated financial statements for monthly and quarterly reporting to management and other parties.
- Compile information for annual audit and ongoing regulatory reporting.
- Interact with company management to facilitate financial forecasts, variance analysis and cost controls.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and payroll documentation.




- Assisting finance department staff with workload demands and/or employee absences including, but not limited to, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Qualification & Skills
- 3-5 years accounting experience in a similar role.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with Sage 300 ERP software and CaseWare software.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, or equivalent would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards and CRA payroll standards.
- Solid organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)

Work Environment Office-based role with computer-focused work

Ability to manage stress and maintain attention to detail

Candidates must be willing and able to work 39 hours per week as part of a Group Averaging Arrangement.

7:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday

7:00am to 12:00pm (noon) Friday

This is a one-year term position with potential for extension and permanent employment based on business needs and mutual agreement.
