K&K Insurance Canada Is Looking For an Underwriting Assistant

The position supports a team that is driven everyday to think bigger and do better for our customers, and achieve desired results. Your role is to learn and grow, to develop as a valued member of the team, and work toward an underwriting career path. Reporting directly into the Underwriting Director, this technical position is a key part of the K&K team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Service a book of business under supervision of the Underwriter and Underwriting Director


• Log applications, process commercial insurance policies, endorsements, renewals.


• Maintain electronic client files and abeyance files for outstanding underwriting information


• Assist with preparation of quotes and binders


• Assist with preparation of accounting spreadsheets, account reconciliation & broker invoicing.

Education & Experience:

• Post-Secondary degree/diploma


• 2 years of Commercial and/or Specialty Insurance experience is required


• Must be technologically savvy and data-driven, including proficiency in Excel


• CIP courses or designation an asset but not required to begin role


• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development including insurance courses and certifications.


• Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;


• Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;


• Must have solid computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.

This role will requires no travel.

We Offer You:

The salary range for this position is CAD $45,000 - $55,000. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
