Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist – Construction North Terra Construction Concord, ON $45,000.00-$67,000.00 per year + benefits

About Us North Terra Construction is a growing excavation and civil construction contractor serving the GTA and Ontario. We work with some of the region's leading general contractors on commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Our team is busy and close-knit, and we're looking for someone who'll help keep both our cash flow and our office running smoothly.

About the Role You'll own our AP and AR from invoice to payment. That means billing accurately, following up confidently, and keeping our vendors and GCs happy. If you like being the person who knows where every dollar stands and can chase an overdue invoice with a smile, we want to meet you.

What You'll Do

- Prepare and submit monthly progress billings to general contractors, including schedules of values, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation
- Submit billings through GC portals and platforms (e.g., Procore, Textura) and meet each GC's billing deadlines
- Track holdbacks, holdback releases, and payment timelines under Ontario's Construction Act and prompt payment rules
- Prepare statutory declarations, WSIB clearance certificates, and other documents required for payment release
- Follow up with GCs on overdue invoices by phone and email, and keep an up-to-date receivables aging report
- Process supplier and subcontractor invoices, match them to POs and delivery tickets, and code them to the correct jobs and cost codes




- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare payment runs and keep subcontractor compliance documents current
- Help project managers with job costing and cost breakdowns
- Support month-end close and help with general office administration as needed

What You Bring
- 2+ years of AP/AR experience in the construction industry (required)
- Hands-on experience with progress billing, holdbacks, and GC billing portals
- Working knowledge of Ontario's Construction Act and prompt payment requirements
- Experience with [accounting software, e.g., Sage 300 CRE, QuickBooks, Foundation] and strong Excel skills
- A positive, personable attitude and the confidence to call GCs about overdue invoices
- Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
- Someone who helps keep the office upbeat and treats field crews, suppliers, and clients with respect
- Accounting diploma or related education is an asset
