We are a place where bright, talented, and collegial people want to work together and we work hard together to achieve our goals in a collaborative and efficient way.A Day In The LifeThe Legal Assistant role contributes to efficient day-to-day operations by providing clerical and administrative support to the Litigation & Dispute Resolution lawyers in Fasken's Vancouver office. This is done through exceptional practice management and client service, the ability to successfully handle competing priorities, and a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.Primary Responsibilities:Administrative tasks, such as email and calendar management, meeting coordination, processing incoming and outgoing mail, preparing expense reports, handling invoices, and disbursementsOpen, maintain, and close files in accordance with firm proceduresMaintain an organized file management and bring forward systemPrepare, format, and proofread a variety of legal documents,



including correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, lists of documents, and agreementsSchedule trials, discoveries, and hearings, and prepare required documentationEnsure all physical and electronic filing is organized and updated regularlyCommunicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and external stakeholdersOther duties, as assignedRequired Skills and ExperienceLegal Administrative Assistant certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution3+ years of commercial litigation experience, preferably in a large firmStrong understanding of Supreme Court litigation procedure and the Rules of CourtFamiliarity with Foreclosures is an assetProficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (including Teams and SharePoint) and legal software such as iManage, Adobe, Docusign, and Chrome RiverAbility to work independently with a high degree of accountability and minimal supervisionWhy Work With UsFasken is dedicated to rewarding your contributions and encouraging your professional development.
