Industrial Automation Job Description General Job Description This role is responsible for the programming, integration, and support of industrial automation systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs and low-voltage control systems within a plastic injection molding environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic manufacturing setting, and take a proactive, hands‑on approach to troubleshooting and resolving both production and project‑related challenges efficiently and professionally.

Compensation and Benefits Wage is negotiable –Paid overtime after 40 hours per week

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Program and integrate industrial robots, including Fanuc and Motoman for both new and existing equipment.

Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications using platforms such as Beckhoff, Omron, and Allen-Bradley.

Configure and support vision systems,



including Keyence, Cognex, and Fanuc.

Create and revise electrical schematics using AutoCAD & EPlan.

Assemble and wire low‑voltage control panels in accordance with electrical design standards.

Integrate robotic & automation equipment, focusing on seamless functionality and system reliability.

Set up and maintain industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, and PROFINET.

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain automated machinery, including robotic systems, assembly lines, packaging equipment, conveyors, and vision inspection systems.

Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Assist injection molding specialists during new product launches and equipment upgrades.

Interpret and apply information from electrical schematics and technical documentation.

Education and Qualifications Robotics and Automation diploma, Technologist diploma in Electrical engineering, Industrial Electrician license, Electronics Technician Certificate or equivalent training and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 5 years of experience in a similar role required. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
