Our spectrum of services has grown from the delivery of Chinese meals-on-wheels service to a full range of community support services, covering the whole Greater Toronto Area.With a staff of more than 550 members (including full-time and part-time staff) and the help of a pool of 850 active volunteers, we serve over 15,000 clients a year, including seniors, adults, youth with physical, social, emotional and health challenges. 3,000 of whom are "home-bound" and frail.We are currently seeking a Personal Support Worker to fill a new position at our Overnight Stay Program.Terms: Full Time Permanent / Part Time PermanentLocation: 5676 Main Street, Stouffville / 4310 Hwy 7 E, MarkhamShifts : Night (10:45pm – 9:15am); Morning(8:45am - 4:45pm); Evening (3:00pm - 11:00pm)Pay range :$21 – $23 hourly (wage enhancement included)Responsibilities:Provide personal care services in a 24-hour respite care setting, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, skin care, dressing, toileting, lifts/transfers, mobility assistance, assisting at meal time, reminder of medication, etc. to meet clients' needs and requests in a courteous and respectful mannerAssess,



intervene and report incidents and changes in client statusEnsure the rooms are clean and free from hazardsRequirements:Graduated from a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate programAt least 2 years' experience in long term care facility/hospital settingCurrent certification in First Aid & CPR, and Food HandlingMust be available to work shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidaysSensitivity to adults with needs related to aging, physical and mental healthAbility to perform client transfers and daily living activities; lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods of timePhysically and mentally able to complete the duties of PSW without restrictionsPossess a caring attitude and excellent interpersonal skillsProficiency in English and a second language that reflects the community served, eg.
