Asbestos Guard - Level 3 Asbestos Remediation Supervisor

Asbestos Guard is seeking an experienced Level 3 Asbestos Remediation Supervisor to join our team.

This is a hands-on supervisory position for a qualified individual with strong experience in asbestos remediation and hazardous materials work. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising crews, maintaining safe work practices, ensuring proper containment and remediation procedures are followed, and helping keep projects organized and on schedule.

Responsibilities

-Supervise and lead asbestos remediation crews on Level 3 high-risk projects.

-Set up, maintain, inspect, and dismantle containment areas.

-Ensure negative-air systems, decontamination units, HEPA filtration, and required controls are properly installed and maintained.

-Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable WorkSafeBC requirements, company procedures, and project specifications.

-Perform and supervise asbestos, lead, and mould abatement work.

-Conduct daily site inspections and ensure workers are following proper PPE, respiratory protection, and decontamination procedures.

-Complete hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, site documentation, daily logs, and required paperwork.

-Coordinate materials, equipment, disposal requirements, and waste handling.

-Supervise proper bagging, labelling, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.

-Assist with air monitoring, clearance procedures, and third-party consultants when required.

-Identify job-site issues and communicate them promptly to management.

-Train, guide, and support remediation technicians and junior employees.

-Maintain a clean,



organized, and professional job site.

-Ensure projects remain on schedule and work efficiently toward established deadlines.

-Work overtime, evenings, or weekends when required to maintain project schedules and meet deadlines.

-Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, consultants, property managers, and other trades.

Qualifications

-Minimum five years of experience working in the hazardous materials, remediation, or abatement industry.

-Minimum two years of direct experience working with asbestos, lead, and mould abatements.

-Previous supervisory or crew-lead experience strongly preferred.

-Current and valid Level 3 asbestos abatement qualifications required.

-All applicable asbestos remediation training, certifications, and tickets required for the position must be current and in good standing.

-Current respirator fit testing and experience working with respiratory protection programs.

-Strong understanding of high-risk asbestos containment, negative-air systems, decontamination procedures, HEPA filtration, and hazardous waste handling.

-Knowledge of lead and mould remediation procedures.

-Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and safe-work procedures relating to asbestos and hazardous materials.

-Valid driver's licence.





-Clean driving record.

-Ability to pass a criminal record check.

-Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying equipment, working in PPE, and working in containment environments.

-Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

-Ability to complete job documentation and reports accurately.

-Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions on active job sites.

Compensation and Benefits

-$32.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on qualifications, certifications, supervisory experience, and industry experience.
