We are seeking an experienced Furniture Assembler to join our dynamic team at our Seating Division in Kitchener.

HOURS OF WORK: MONDAY - FRIDAY, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Location - Kitchener

RESPONSIBILITIES:

l Assembles parts – using glue, pin nails, jigs, staples, dowels, hand clamps, hand tools, springs and screws. (could if needed assemble tables and chairs with training)

l Operates air clamps,

l Performs necessary material handling requirements of the job.

l Assemble tables/chairs to tolerance specified.

l Follow priorities for assembly (rush order, ship dates, etc.)

l Change damaged or unacceptable parts on chairs, as needed.

l Meet/exceed established piecework standards.

l Observes safe working practices.

l Maintains clean and orderly work area.

l Performs webbing duties – using rubber webbing and hession (approximately 20% of the time).

l Inform Team Leader/Engineering of quality and/or machine problems encountered l Performs all responsibilities/services in accordance with company Quality Assurance Procedures.





l Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader/Lead Hand.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Grade 12 education or equivalent experience

· Able to read blueprints/drawings; good math/measuring skills

· Good language communication skills both written & verbal.

· Experience using woodworking equipment (ie. table saw, drill press, air driver, chisel, staple gun)

· Experience using pneumatic/hand tools.

· Familiar with woodworking assembly components, e.g. hardware dowels, mini-fixes

· Working knowledge of sub-assembly components (drawer build and drawer fit)

· Good decision-making skills required to deal with quality and production issues; able to assess cases and make repairs

· Solid manual dexterity required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Full skill set is required to obtain the full rate of the position.
