ASI Engineering is seeking an Asset Management Inspector, Buildings to support asset management, infrastructure assessment and engineering consulting projects. This role is a mix of office-based technical work and field-based data collection, with up to 50% of the work expected to take place in the field. primarily office-based technical work.

The successful candidate will work with engineers, facility personnel, contractors, and clients to inspect facilities, record asset information, identify deficiencies, and translate field observations into reliable data and practical recommendations for capital and maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct field inspections of core building components and systems, including roofs, walls, windows, doors, finishes, structural elements, mechanical and electrical service areas, accessibility features, and interior spaces.
- Collect and verify asset data on site, including quantities, dimensions, materials, condition ratings, and remaining useful life.
- Identify and document deficiencies, maintenance requirements, code concerns, safety hazards, and renewal needs observed during inspections.
- Prepare field notes, condition assessment reports, technical summaries, photographs, sketches, and cost estimates.
- Populate and maintain asset registers, building records, floor plans, and condition data within asset management systems.
- Review drawings, specifications, prior inspection reports, and operations and maintenance documentation to prepare for and validate site findings.
- Support lifecycle analysis, risk assessments, capital renewal plans, and preventive maintenance programs with accurate field data.
- Coordinate site access and inspection scheduling with facility operators,



client representatives, contractors, and consultants.
- Support quality-control reviews to ensure asset information is complete, consistent, and accurate.
- Follow applicable building codes, safety requirements, client standards, and company procedures, including site-specific safety protocols.
- Participate in client meetings and present field findings in clear, practical language.
- Produce technical reports and presentations.

Qualifications

- Degree, diploma, or certification in Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field; certification as a building inspector, home inspector, or engineering technologist is an asset.
- Understanding of building systems, construction methods, materials, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct field inspections, take accurate measurements, and record observations systematically.
- Strong written communication, reporting, organization, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with mobile inspection or asset management software is an asset.
- Knowledge of building condition assessments, lifecycle planning, or facility management is an asset.




- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel across North America to project sites.

Experience

- At least 4 years of experience in engineering, building science, architecture, construction, facilities, inspection, or asset management is preferred.
- Experience collecting field data, conducting condition assessments, or preparing technical reports is strongly preferred.
- Experience working on active sites and coordinating access with facility operations is an advantage.
- Experience collecting, reviewing, validating, or managing large volumes of infrastructure asset data is an advantage.

Pay: $60,000.00-$92,000.00 per year
