At Carefor, we know our work matters, and we're proud of the impact we have in people's lives.OverviewReporting to the Centre Leader, the Program Coordinator coordinates and facilitates, the activities and programs, ensuring that a vibrant, diverse, and engaging environment is offered to the clients and/or caregivers.ResponsibilitiesRecommends, develops, implements, facilitates, and evaluates diversified and meaningful programs with the dimensions of wellness in mind (social, physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental, vocational, and spiritual)Drafts and prepares communication tools (newsletters, posters, notices, calendars, social media content, etc.) designed to inform and engage clients and volunteers in regular and/or special eventsCreates a safe and pleasant recreational environment to stimulate participation and creativityDevelops and fosters community partnerships to further enhance support to clients and/or program developmentAccesses and utilizes community resources where appropriateLiaises with other agencies and individuals from seniors-focused organizations, clubs, associations, and groups to plan and deliver special events, outings, and programsCollaborates with the marketing team to promote events and programsOrganizes supplies, equipment, and resources for the programsEffectively communicates and interacts with clients in a courteous and skilled mannerProvides information, coordinates services and/or refers clients/caregivers to other resources as requiredInitiates and completes the client intake process (including the required assessments and reassessments for specific programs)
with guidance from the Centre LeaderMaintains and updates client and volunteer files in the client information management system including schedulesAssists with volunteer recruitment, selection, orientation, and training, and facilitates in-service meetings as neededProcesses client payments, donations, and fundraised moneyPrepares and reconciles bank deposits, and deposits money at the bank as requiredParticipates in fundraising activities which may occur after regular hoursReviews client billable services and volunteer reimbursements before sending to the central finance departmentFunctions and reports in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and Carefor policies and procedures.Participates in health and safety training including WHMIS and applies this knowledge in the workplaceWears or uses any/all protective equipment or clothing provided by Carefor and does not interfere with protective devices as to change or negate their functionsReports the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device, and which may endanger self or other workerReports any violations of the Health and Safety Act or the regulations, or the existence of any hazard Does not use or operate any equipment, machine, device, or work in a manner that may endanger self or other workerEnsures all workplace incidents are reported in a timely manner in accordance with legislation, and Carefor policies and procedures for workplace injuries and incidents (eg. WSIB injuries, infection control)Adheres to the Carefor standards for conduct and behavior and upholds Carefor's Core ValuesEnsures that confidential information relating to clients, work colleagues, suppliers and Carefor's operations is properly protected and not disclosed to third parties,
