Role Description The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals in an on-site clinical setting in Winnipeg, MB. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and overseeing routine and complex surgeries. The role also involves communicating clearly with clients about diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care, as well as documenting medical records accurately and efficiently.

The Associate

Veterinarian will collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure a safe, respectful,



and efficient workflow while maintaining high standards of patient care and client service. This is a full time, on-site position.

Qualifications

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure with the Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association.
- Clinical skills in small animal medicine, surgery (soft tissue and routine procedures), and anesthesia, with a focus on patient safety and quality of care.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, including competent use of laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic tools.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills for client education and collaboration with veterinary team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment, manage multiple cases, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Commitment to continuing education, evidence-based medicine, and staying current with advances in veterinary care.
- Interest in contributing to a growing, privately owned hospital’s culture, including participation in protocol development and quality improvement.
- Experience with practice management software and basic computer skills; prior small animal practice experience is an asset but not required for strong recent graduates.
