Job Summary

Join our automotive team as an Auto Body Prepper, where you will play a vital role in preparing vehicles for repair and repainting processes. This position involves meticulously cleaning, sanding, and priming vehicle panels to ensure they are ready for the next steps in collision repair. Your attention to detail will help us deliver top-quality results and enhance customer satisfaction.

Duties

- Thoroughly clean vehicle surfaces to remove dirt, grease, and debris using hand tools and power tools
- Sand and smooth out repaired areas to prepare for primer application
- Apply primers and sealants to ensure proper adhesion of paint and coatings
- Use heavy lifting techniques to move vehicle parts or panels safely during preparation processes
- Assist with basic disassembly tasks related to body repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools are properly stored and maintained
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling power tools, hand tools, and automotive chemicals

Skills





- Prior experience working in an auto body shop highly preferred
- Ability to understand & follow specified repair procedures related to prepping
- A keen eye for fine details
- Proficiency with hand tools such as sanders, grinders, scrapers, and wrenches
- Experience using power tools safely and effectively in an automotive setting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while handling vehicle parts or equipment
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes and collision prep techniques
- Mechanical experience is an asset, providing a solid foundation for understanding vehicle components
