The Role You will handle mechanical repairs, routine maintenance, and chassis service for a new independent EV repair facility in Cambridge, working primarily on Tesla and other electric vehicles. In this role, you will help set up smooth daily shop workflows and establish clean, reliable service practices for incoming work.

Your day-to-day focus centers on core mechanical work: steering, suspension, brakes, wheel bearings, alignments, HVAC servicing, and low-voltage accessories. You will not be opening battery packs or dealing with internal high-voltage rebuilds—future battery-related work will simply involve dropping the pack assembly so it can be transferred off-site for repair. As service volume grows, you will also have the opportunity to guide and mentor an apprentice technician.

What You Will Do

- Inspect, service, and repair primarily Tesla and other electric vehicles.
- Perform suspension overhauls, control arm replacements, wheel bearings, half-shafts, alignments, and brake servicing.
- Service automotive HVAC and thermal management systems, including A/C recovery/recharge, cabin air systems, and cooling loop components.
- Replace low-voltage components, door handles, window regulators, and exterior trim hardware.
- Connect scan tools to perform routine resets, read error codes, and complete system calibrations.
- Assist with battery pack removal and installation (R&I;) down the road as service offerings expand.
- Help organize bay layouts,



tool staging, and daily shop procedures.
- Guide and mentor an automotive apprentice as the shop brings on junior staff.

What You Bring

- Licence: Valid Ontario 310S Automotive Service Technician licence (or Red Seal equivalent).
- HVAC Understanding: Solid working knowledge of automotive HVAC systems, A/C service procedures, and refrigerant handling (ODP certification is an asset).
- Mechanical Skill: Strong background in suspension, steering, brakes, and general chassis repairs. Prior Tesla or EV experience is an asset, but not required—a solid mechanical foundation and willingness to work on EVs is what matters most.
- Open Mindset: Comfortable learning EV-specific mechanical procedures, such as safe battery pack removal and installation.
- Apprentice Mentorship: Willingness to share your trade knowledge and guide an apprentice as the team grows.
- Tools: Your own standard hand tools and roll cab (all EV specialty adapters, lifting gear, and scan tools are provided).
- Driver’s Licence: Clean Ontario Class G driver’s licence.
