We are seeking a

Senior Network Architect

with robust

hands‑on

and deep

architectural expertise

in

Ciena routing and switching platforms , specifically the

31xx, 51xx and 81xx product families . The role also requires experience with

Ciena Navigator , to design, automate, and operationalize large‑scale, carrier‑grade IP and Ethernet networks. This position blends

architecture leadership, system integration, and practical configuration experience , ensuring designs are both innovative and operationally sound.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, and

hands‑on implement

IP/MPLS and Ethernet network solutions using

Ciena 31xx, 51xx and 81xx platforms

Define and maintain

reference architectures, design standards, and configuration best practices

Develop and review

HLD/LLD , topology diagrams, resiliency models, and capacity plans

Design and integrate

OSS‑driven network workflows

using:

Navigator NCS

for network control, visibility, and lifecycle management

IP/MPLS, Segment Routing, and EVPN‑based services

Layer 2 and Layer 3 Ethernet services at scale

Traffic engineering, QoS, and high‑availability designs

Perform

hands‑on configuration, testing, and validation , including lab and pre‑production environments

Guide operations and deployment teams to ensure

seamless transition from design to production

Drive

network modernization and automation initiatives ,



including platform migrations and OSS integration

Evaluate new Ciena features, APIs, and software releases; provide recommendations and adoption strategies

Act as the

technical escalation point

for complex network and OSS‑related issues

Mentor engineers and review technical designs and configurations

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

8+ years of experience

in network engineering and architecture roles

Demonstrated

hands‑on expertise

with

Ciena 31xx, 51xx and 81xx

routing and switching platforms

Strong experience with

Ciena Navigator NCS

Deep knowledge of: IP/MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, LDP, RSVP‑TE, Ethernet technologies (VLAN, QinQ, LAG, EVPN‑VPWS/VXLAN)

Experience designing

high‑scale, high‑availability, and multi‑domain networks

Ability to translate operational and business requirements into

automated, scalable architectures

Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and cross‑team communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Have been employed at Ciena in last 5 years

Experience in

service provider or carrier‑grade environments

Knowledge of

model‑driven networking , telemetry, and APIs (NETCONF/YANG, REST)

Experience with

network automation and scripting

(Python, Ansible)

Familiarity with

closed‑loop automation and service assurance
