Position Summary A Behaviour Consultant (BC) is a clinical team member who reports to a Clinical Supervisor (CS). They are responsible for onboarding caregivers to VIVA, conducting assessments, creating Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs), developing programs, monitoring, documenting, and communicating client progress so that each child reaches their full potential and has an enhanced quality of life. Behaviour Consultants train and supervise Lead Therapists and Behaviour Assistants, collaborate with community partners, and support children as they transition to school. The hours of work for this position are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Client Assessment & Intake

- Conduct intake, develop PLPs, and implement individualized therapy programs in collaboration with learners, caregivers, and ELCC teams.
- Conduct and summarize provincially mandated assessments (CALI) and other assessments (e.g., BHI).

Program Development & Clinical Services

- Use data collection and progress monitoring tools to assess progress, guide support priorities, and document clinical decisions in clinic notes.
- Implement Universal Protocols (UPs) and follow regional procedures for problem behaviours to ensure safety, dignity, and rapport.

Family & Community Collaboration

- Collaborate with caregivers, ELCC teams, Lead Therapists, Behaviour Assistants, and community partners (e.g., Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists) to support each child’s needs and goals, while addressing concerns and resolving issues.

Clinical Supervision

- Provide training, support and feedback to Lead Therapists (LT) and Behaviour Assistants (BA) using Behaviour Skills Training (BST).
- Complete Session Observation Feedback Forms (SOFF) to regularly evaluate Behaviour Assistants and Lead Therapists and ensure clinical quality.

Documentation & Administration





- Maintain accurate client documentation and complete required provincially mandated administrative documentation (e.g., Service Level Agreements, Appendix E, and Appendix K).
- Coordinate monthly schedules, client calendars, attendance, and communication with caregivers and Early Learning Centre staff.

School Transitions

- Facilitate successful transitions into school by supporting children and caregivers with pre-kindergarten activities, preparing transition reports, and facilitating meetings and observations with caregivers and school teams.

Qualifications & Experience The ideal candidate will:

- Have completed a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or Education. (An equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience may be considered).
- Have experience working with preschool-aged children with autism spectrum disorder in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
- Present a clear Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Social Development screening completed within the past five years.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
- Hold a valid driver's licence and have access to a vehicle, as travel is required.
- Demonstrate proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
