Position Summary The Heavy Truck Body Repair & Paint Technician is responsible for repairing, restoring, preparing, and refinishing heavy trucks and trailers to the highest quality standards. This position combines advanced body repair, structural repair, preparation, and paint refinishing responsibilities while supporting shop efficiency, training, and production objectives.

Main Responsibilities

Body Repair & Structural Work

· Perform post-accident repairs on heavy trucks and trailers

· Replace damaged parts and components

· Perform frame repairs (advanced)

· Repair fiberglass and composite materials

· Apply body filler and complete finishing work

· Perform metal work on aluminum and steel

· Perform welding repairs

· Complete air conditioning repairs (advanced)

Paint & Refinishing

· Prepare surfaces for painting

· Apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and single-stage paints

· Ensure accurate color matching

· Create proper blend plans

· Select proper paint reduction according to temperature and humidity conditions

· Ensure prep work meets quality standards before painting

· Deliver the best finish possible using professional paint systems including Imron Elite products

Shop Operations & Leadership

· Attend training sessions as required

· Train and mentor body technicians, painters, and support staff

· Maintain clean body shop, paint shop, and mix room environments

· Maintain paint and material inventory

· Create, refine, document, and update repair and paint processes

· Improve shop workflow, efficiency, and production systems over time

· Work closely with management and the production team to ensure deadlines and deliveries are met

Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Training





· Experience in heavy truck body repair and paint refinishing

· Experience with heavy trucks and trailers preferred

· Class 3 or higher bodyman cards considered an asset

· Ozone training certification considered an asset

Technical Skills

· Strong body repair and paint refinishing skills

· Knowledge of welding and metal repair techniques

· Ability to operate specialized repair and paint equipment

· Understanding of paint preparation and refinishing procedures

· Ability to maintain high-quality workmanship standards
