Business Data Analyst – Investment Management - 1798

Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid - 3 days a week in office)

This role supports investment management operations through business and data analysis across front-office investment platforms. The position focuses on understanding and analyzing investment data residing within platforms such as Aladdin and Bloomberg, along with other data platforms such as Snowflake. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of investment management and data analysis, helping to understand, reconcile, and interpret data from a front-office perspective.

The role is best suited to someone with strong investment management domain knowledge and a solid level of technical understanding. Candidates should be comfortable working with data across multiple systems and, ideally, have experience using SQL and Python to analyze and reconcile data. The position requires the ability to understand not only the data itself, but also the business meaning behind the data from an investment and front-office perspective.

Must Haves

6+ years of relevant experience, with flexibility to consider candidates with a broader range of experience

SQL experience, including the ability to run queries and analyze data

Python experience, including the ability to run scripts for data analysis

Strong understanding of investment management and front-office data

Experience working with investment platforms such as Aladdin and/or Bloomberg from a data perspective

Business data analysis experience within asset management, investment management, pension funds, banks, or similar financial institutions

Combination of investment management domain expertise and technical data analysis experience

Ability to analyze and understand data across multiple systems and platforms

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to understand the business meaning and context behind investment and front-office data

Nice to Have

Experience with Snowflake or other data platforms

CFA Level 1–3 or another credential/certification demonstrating investment management knowledge

Analyze and interpret data from front-office investment platforms and systems





Work with data from platforms such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, Snowflake, and other investment/data platforms

Analyze and reconcile data between different systems

Use SQL and/or Python to query, manipulate, and analyze data

Investigate data issues and determine the business meaning and context behind identified discrepancies

Apply investment management and front-office knowledge when analyzing and interpreting data

Work with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and investment-related processes

Support analysis across trading and front-office functions from a data perspective

Leverage knowledge of investment management platforms to support business and data analysis activities

Contribute to data-related initiatives by combining investment domain knowledge with technical analysis capabilities
