WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR AN ORDER TAKER.

We're looking for someone who can create business where none currently exists.

Muskoka Event Services is an established and growing event rental and infrastructure company servicing major events throughout Central Ontario.

We already have the trucks.

We already have the equipment.

We already have the warehouse infrastructure.

We already have experienced crews capable of executing large events.

Now we want someone obsessed with selling that capacity.

Our next phase of growth is focused heavily on Barrie, York Region and the GTA, while building significantly more business during our November–May off-season.

We're looking for the person who wants to help build it.

Don't just sell another tent.

Build an account.

THIS IS OUTBOUND SALES

Our Customer Service Associates handle incoming inquiries.

You hunt.

You will be expected to:

- Build target account lists
- Find the actual decision-maker
- Pick up the phone
- Send targeted outreach
- Use LinkedIn intelligently
- Walk into venues
- Attend industry and networking events
- Book meetings
- Conduct site visits
- Develop relationships
- Find upcoming opportunities before they go to market
- Generate proposals
- Follow up relentlessly
- Build a serious pipeline
- Close business

You won't be measured by how many hours you spend staring at a computer. You'll be measured by what you create.

THE FIRST 90 DAYS

We believe great salespeople should be able to prove they can sell.

The first 90 days are a full-time performance period.

We're not offering senior-level guaranteed compensation to someone before we know whether they can produce senior-level results.

We're also not interested in keeping a high performer at entry-level compensation.

Show us you can generate profitable business and your compensation can move quickly.

During your first 90 days, we'll measure:

Decision-maker conversations

Meetings

Qualified opportunities

Proposals

New accounts

Signed bookings

Future contracted revenue

Profitable business generated

Quality of pipeline

If you're producing, we won't make you wait a year for a compensation review.

THE UPSIDE

This isn't intended to remain an entry-level sales position.

We are looking for someone capable of building a $500,000–$1,000,000+ book of current business.

As the profitable business you generate grows, your compensation grows with it.

Someone who demonstrates the ability to generate serious revenue can progress toward:

Business Development Manager

Senior Business Development Manager

Director of Business Development and potentially building and managing a larger sales team as MES expands.

If you want a position where doing the minimum guarantees you the same raise as everyone else, this probably isn't the opportunity for you.

If you want your earning potential tied directly to the value you create, keep reading.

WHO WE WANT

You don't necessarily need 10 years of event-industry experience.

We're interested in people coming from:

B2B sales automotive sales equipment sales hospitality hotel sales staffing logistics freight AV live events catering rentals commercial services construction sales

What matters more is how you operate.

You may be a fit if:

- You genuinely enjoy selling

- Cold calling doesn't scare you
- Hearing "no" doesn't ruin your day
- You're comfortable approaching strangers
- You know how to get past gatekeepers
- You can speak professionally with executives and decision-makers
- You follow up when everyone else gives up
- You're competitive
- You're organized
- You want measurable targets
- You take ownership of results
- You see an empty territory as an opportunity rather than a problem

WHO WE DON'T WANT This probably isn't for you if:
- You want leads handed to you
- You're uncomfortable cold calling
- You think sending 10 emails constitutes a day of prospecting
- You need constant supervision
- You're looking primarily for a work-from-home position
- You're uncomfortable walking into a business and introducing yourself
- You want senior sales compensation before producing senior sales results
- You're looking for an account-management role

This is a new-business role.

COMPENSATION

This position begins with a 90-day performance-based entry period.

Starting compensation will reflect the proving period and will comply with applicable Ontario employment standards.

The opportunity becomes considerably more lucrative for someone who demonstrates they can generate profitable business.

Our philosophy is simple

Produce results. Earn more.

We aren't interested in putting an artificial ceiling on the earnings of someone who creates substantial profitable growth for the company.

If you build a $1,000,000+ profitable book of new business, we want this to become a six-figure career.

Specific performance milestones and compensation progression will be discussed during the interview process and documented with the successful candidate.

WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY IS DIFFERENT

You're not being hired to maintain somebody else's territory.

You're being given the opportunity to build one.

MES is expanding south.

We want a much larger presence in Barrie.

We want York Region.

We want the GTA.

We want significantly more November–May revenue.

And we're prepared to put our equipment, trucks, operations team and event experience behind someone capable of opening those doors.

The person who successfully builds this market won't simply be another salesperson at MES.

They will have helped build the next stage of the company.

THINK YOU CAN DO IT?

Don't send us a generic cover letter telling us you're a "people person."

Tell us something more useful:

If you started Monday, how would you generate your first $100,000 in new business for Muskoka Event Services?

We want to hear your plan.

If you read all the way to the bottom please tell us, what your favourite wild animal is
