Overview

We are seeking skilled and motivated Carpenters and Journeymen to join our agile construction team to work on multiple high rise construction projects around the Ottawa area. In this vital role, you will bring craftsmanship, precision, and expertise to a variety of projects, ensuring high-quality results that meet safety standards and client expectations.

Duties

- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute construction tasks
- Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, cabinetry, siding, roofing, and drywall
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete projects with precision
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, and tile laying as required for various projects
- Assist with construction estimating by measuring materials and assessing project scope
- Conduct restoration work including drywall finishing, painting, caulking, and siding repairs
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols
- Install plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and HVAC systems when needed for integrated building projects
- Support manufacturing processes through woodworking, assembly, or CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine operation when applicable

Skills

- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for accurate project execution




- Extensive experience with carpentry techniques including framing, cabinetry installation, flooring installation, and woodworking
- Knowledge of construction estimating methods for material takeoffs and project planning
- Skilled in concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, roofing techniques, and siding applications
- Familiarity with drywall finishing, painting techniques (including construction painting), caulking and sealing methods
- Ability to operate hand tools (saws, hammers), power tools (drills, grinders), and CNC machinery with safety awareness
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems and electrical wiring basics relevant to construction projects
- Experience with heavy lifting equipment and safety procedures on active job sites
- Handyman experience or general construction experience is highly valued for versatility in task execution

Experience

- Construction: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
- WHMIS Certification (preferred)
- Working at Heights Certificate (preferred)
