Salish Sauna Company is hiring a Carpenter’s Helper.

This is an entry-level position. Previous carpentry experience is not required — we will train you.

Most of the work is in the shop building custom saunas: a lot of sanding, staining, and painting, plus learning to build barrel saunas and other sauna styles in Western Red Cedar. We also do sauna installations across the greater Victoria area (and sometimes farther out), and take on occasional renovation projects. For the most part, though, this role is on the sauna-building side of the business.

We work in the shop most of the time, which makes it excellent work through the winter when it’s raining and muddy outside.

Over time we will put the right person through the carpentry apprenticeship program.

- Reliable transportation is essential — our shop is in the Highlands and public transit does not go there. You’ll also need to get to job sites around Greater Victoria.
