Project OverviewWebFOCUS is the reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) framework currently used to support MTO operational reporting for several critical business functions. This engagement supports the design, development, and delivery of a replacement operational reporting portal. The successful resource(s) will re-platform existing WebFOCUS reports — including the underlying business logic, SQL, and data transformation rules — into a modern, supportable web application (Java back end / Angular front end) hosted in the ministry's Azure environment, in accordance with Ontario Public Service (OPS) architecture, security, and accessibility standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop fully commented and functional Angular front-end code for the reporting portalCreate unit test code and automated UI test coverageBuild responsive, accessible (AODA-compliant) report views translated from existing WebFOCUS report layoutsDesign and construct REST API services exposing report and reference dataProvide documentation for developers on effective use, integration, and versioning of the APIDevelop Java-based backend services connecting the application to underlying relational databasesMigrate and refactor existing WebFOCUS SQL and report logic into the new applicationProduce source code developed to specification, version-controlled in Azure DevOpsQualifications & RequirementsREQUIREDMust be able to work onsite at either 87 Sir William Hearst Ave., Toronto, or 301 St Paul St, St. Catharines8+ years of experience developing large-scale, production business applications using Java for backend/API development5+ years of experience with Angular (or comparable modern JS/TS framework) for front-end developmentExperience in programming and analysis, with specialized software package support at the specified experience levelAbility to collaborate with IT professionals throughout the software development processExperience with Agile/Scrum methodology for the development, design, implementation, and maintenance of applicationsExperience with design, coding, testing,
