**A note to Care Aides - the Care Aides in our building are employed by Island Health, not The Cridge Centre. This position is not as a Care Aid and will not lead to a position as a CHW in our building.

Our Seniors' Centre is looking for an individual that would enjoy connecting with the seniors in our community and find fulfillment in a job caring for others. This service oriented person would be positive, dependable, self-motivated and would always strive to provide the best service they can to the clients in our care.

We are looking for a casual employee with experience in both housekeeping and restaurant style food service. Shifts are typically for food service in our dining room (11am-7pm), daytime housekeeping (9am-5pm, 11am-7pm) and occassionally, some overnight housekeeping (12-8am). You would need to be willing and available to work all of these positions including overnights.

The rate of pay is dependent on the shift worked - $23.04 for housekeeping, $24.34 for food service and $26.49 for Overnights. Casual employees receive an additional 10.6% in lieu of paid vacation and stats which equates to $25.48, $26.92 and $29.30 respectively.

Job tasks for Serving include meal service in the dining room, setting and clearing tables, washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing duties; Daytime Housekeeping includes suite and common area cleaning, dishwashing in the kitchen, etc.; Overnights include housekeeping duties in common areas and kitchen cleaning.

All Seniors' Centre staff are required to have First Aid and respond to any resident emergencies. In addition,



they must have a clean criminal record check and current Foodsafe. First Aid and Foodsafe can be completed after starting as a condition of employment.

This position would be well suited to applicants that have other casual or part time work with a wide-ranging schedule and are looking for extra hours.

This position requires Union Membership -- BCGEU Local.
