This position is responsible for preparing raw steel and finished product to the correct length and shape according to customer requirements using an Oxyfuel Cutting Table and Sigmanest Program.Job OverviewCandidate will be assigned to operate and set up conventional or numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop math, machinability of materials and drawings.Key Job ResponsibilitiesSetup, program-edit and run cutting tablesMust be able to learn and operate other prep equipmentMust be able to finish product with grinders, sanders, and hand tools.Perform daily preventive maintenance to assigned equipment to keep in proper working order.Must have the ability to read blueprints and use general measuring equipment to produce quality product to specifications.Safely move material using overhead cranes and forkliftsClean and maintain the work areaCommunicate effectively with coworkers and managementAssist in other manufacturing areas when neededAttention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILLS / RESPONSIBILITIES:The ability to apply knowledge of shop math, machinability or materials and drawingsDownload programs via disc, flash drive or direct connectPerform cuts and required nesting as defined by productionAccurate completion of production and Quality Control sheetsAccurate completion of work order based on production scheduleAbility to read operator's book and make appropriate parts correctlyWORK CONDITIONS:Environment is that of a heavy industrial work siteOutdoor elements are a factorExposure to air particles, such as dust, chemical (paint, oil, gas, diesel fumes) and weld smokeExposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areasProper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, steel toed or metatarsal boots, ear plugs/earmuffs, safety glasses, pants, hard hats and possible respirator use
