AltaSteel is currently seeking a safety-conscious Journeyperson Welder to join our Maintenance team. This role plays a vital part in supporting production by performing timely plant welding repairs and contributing to fabrication and rebuild projects in our fab shop.ResponsibilitiesPerform structural welding repairs across a wide range of plant equipment and infrastructureSupport production areas through efficient and high-quality welding workComplete fabrication and rebuild projects in the fab shopWeld using SMAW and FCAW processes, primarily on mild steel, with occasional work on stainless steel and aluminumEnsure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and proceduresInterpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to complete projects accuratelyQualifications & SkillsJourneyman Alberta Welder or Red Seal Welder certificationCWB certified SMAW all positions, must show proof upon offerStrong commitment to safety and adherence to proceduresEagerness to learn and take on current challengesEffective communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitudeDetailsFull time, permanent, in-town opportunity.Employer paid benefits and pension12 hour, day and night, rotational shift work
