We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and self-motivated Clinical Therapist to provide psychotherapy services to individuals experiencing a range of mental health concerns. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and have access to peer support in clinical practice.
This position is ideal for a therapist looking for flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to establish or expand a private practice within an established clinic setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual psychotherapy and mental health support to clients experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions.
- Training in evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), or Solution-Focused Therapy.
- Experience providing both virtual and in-person therapy services.
- Develop treatment plans, and monitor client progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NSCSW standards and privacy legislation.
- Complete risk assessments,
safety planning, and crisis intervention when required.
- Manage an independent caseload while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
- Participate in ongoing career development and maintain NSCSW registration requirements.
Experience
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university.
- Current registration and licensure in positive standing with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW).
- Minimum 3-5 years of post-graduate clinical experience providing psychotherapy.
- Professional liability insurance.
- Experience risk assessments, treatment planning, and psychotherapy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload.
- Knowledge of ethical and qualified standards governing social work practice.
