ROLE SUMMARY: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the CNC Machinist is responsible for safe work practices producing quality parts using saws, lathes and mills by reviewing drawings, instructions or samples and taking measurements to ensure quality product.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work to the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and N299.3 Quality Assurance Program
- Maintain safe work practices
- Adhere to schedule priorities
- Keep equipment/work area clean and orderly using 5S and Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Program, set up and/or operate machining equipment – training provided
- Operator CNC Bridge and Boring Mills, Lathes, cutting equipment
- Operate hand and bench grinders
- Operate forklift and lifting devices – training/certification provided




- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Verify dimensions for accuracy and conformance to specifications using calibrated measuring tools
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machine or product
- Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
- Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
- Other assigned work as required

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

- GED or equivalent
- Journeyman / Red Seal CNC Machinist certification preferred
- Strong working mechanical knowledge of industry machines/ tools including design, use, repair/maintenance

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

- CNC Programming and Operating experience
- Understand G-code
- Knowledge to create, edit and test programs in Gibbs Cam
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings/measurements
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to use power and hand tools

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
