Overview:

Mini Marvels Learning Centre is a warm and nurturing child care centre dedicated to creating a healthy and caring setting for children from 6 months to kindergarten age. We are seeking a reliable and organized Cook to prepare nutritious, child-friendly meals and snacks in accordance with Alberta Health and Safety standards and our centre’s meal plan.

The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, maintains a clean and safe kitchen, and understands the importance of balanced nutrition for young children.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks for children following the centre’s approved menu.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and meets dietary requirements or restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
- Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation practices in compliance with Alberta Health Services regulations.
- Order and manage kitchen inventory, ensuring adequate stock of food and supplies.
- Keep daily records of food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and meal counts.




- Work collaboratively with the daycare team to support special events, celebrations, or dietary needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a child care, school, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition and portion sizes appropriate for young children.
- Valid Food Handling Certificate required .
- Alberta Child Care Certification (Level 1, 2, or 3) is considered an asset.
- Ability to plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals efficiently.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine care for children’s well-being.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $16.00 per hour
