Job Summary The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and environmental control systems within agricultural and production facilities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal environmental conditions to support operational efficiency, product quality, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Install, inspect, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems across greenhouse, production, and storage environments Monitor, maintain, and optimize environmental control systems, including temperature, humidity, ventilation, and airflow Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and implement timely and effective corrective actions Execute preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset lifespan Operate and troubleshoot automated systems, including sensors, control panels, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) Ensure proper air quality, filtration, and environmental conditions are consistently maintained across the facility Calibrate and maintain thermostats, humidistats, and environmental monitoring equipment Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to support installation and repairs Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs,



and compliance documentation Ensure adherence to all safety standards, environmental regulations, and site-specific biosecurity protocols Provide technical guidance and training to operations staff on HVAC system functionality and best practices Support continuous improvement initiatives, including energy efficiency and system optimization projects Qualifications and Education Requirements Diploma or certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related field Valid HVAC/refrigeration license (as required by provincial regulations) Minimum 5 years of experience in an HVAC role Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Due to the nature of the business and working with controlled substances, all new employees will be required to complete a background check prior to starting work. It is a requirement that the selected Candidate be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time an offer is presented.
