SUMMARYThe Handypersonis responsible for performing maintenance and repair, routine and on-demand services on non-technical facility components (i.E. General Handyperson type work e.G. walls, floors, etc). The Technicianis also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.At this position level:Maintains and repairs non-technical facility componentsDemonstrates an interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license, or may be enrolled to complete a trades certification or licenseKEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms work in accordance to established processes and practicesComplies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protectionPerforms regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspectionProvides observations about facility and facility non-technical component conditions and deficiencies and provides suggestions for enhancements and repair.Monitors assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs, facility non-technical component monitoring and inspectionResponds to routine and on-demand service requestsPerforms preventative maintenance and repair work to non-technical components within the facility.Records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirementsReceives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database. Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work requiredAssists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated,



and that related documentations are maintained.Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliant with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where requiredSubmits all expenditures on a timely basisAssists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered.Other duties as assigned.Work RequirementsMust be willing to wear personal protective equipmentMINIMUM EDUCATION:High school educationJOB-RELATED EXPERIENCEMinimum 1-3 yearsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSMinimum 1-3 years facility operations and maintenance work experienceHigh school diplomaTrade related training an assetAbility to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenanceAbility to maintain, troubleshoot and repair non-technical facility componentsAbility to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repairAbility to research, learn and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job – fire, life, safety and building codes and standardsPossesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe mannerStrong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgencyEffective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarificationLicenses and/or Qualified AccreditationDemonstrates an interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license, or beginning to work towards a trades certification or licenseValid drivers' licenseThis is a regular, full-time position with a hourly range of $28.30 - $33.29 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
