Corporate Accountant

Job Type: Contract to Perm

Contract Duration: 6 months, strong potential to become permanent

Pay Rate: Up to $35/hr DOE

Location: Mississauga, ON (remote on Fridays)

Your New Role

You will play a key role in the organization's corporate accounting and financial reporting functions, being responsible for supporting the preparation of consolidated financial statements, maintaining general ledger activities, assisting with audit requirements, and contributing to management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

What You Need to Do

- Maintain and oversee day-to-day general ledger transactions, including the preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and related disclosures.
- Prepare supporting working papers and note disclosures to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
- Calculate and record consolidation and elimination entries.
- Support the preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages.
- Monitor monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines and deliverables.
- Coordinate and compile audit working papers and supporting documentation for quarterly and annual audits.
- Liaise with auditors and assist in resolving audit-related inquiries.
- Prepare management reporting related to key operational metrics,



including NOI, occupancy, and leasing activity.
- Support annual budgeting, reforecasting processes, and variance analysis.
- Participate in special projects and other accounting-related responsibilities as assigned.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
- Currently pursuing a CPA designation, ideally in the intermediate stages of the program.
- Working knowledge of Canadian GAAP and IFRS.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
- Real estate industry experience is considered an asset.
- Public accounting or audit experience would be considered an asset.
- Experience with Yardi 7S is considered an asset.
