Engineering Program Manager on the App Store , you'll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, design, legal, privacy, and operations. Your day-to-day will involve driving

complex cross-functional projects

from inception through to ship — defining requirements, managing timelines, coordinating stakeholders, and keeping multiple concurrent workstreams moving without dropping the ball. About the Role: Engineering Program Manager, App Store This position sits within

Apple Services Engineering

and focuses on the App Store ecosystem specifically. You'll be responsible for influencing and leading the delivery of

business-critical features

that shape both the Apple Developer and Customer experiences. That means writing functional and reporting requirements yourself, managing pipelines for current features, and coordinating across a wide array of internal teams including Engineering, Product, Design, QA, Legal, Privacy, Trust & Safety, and Operations.

Success in this role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity and can turn incomplete or conflicting inputs into clear, actionable plans. You'll be expected to take full ownership of your projects, communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation, and continuously look for ways to improve how

App Store features are built and executed . Familiarity with

software application architecture , experience with iOS development, and a comfort using

base pay range of $130,200 to $195,600

for this role, with your placement within that range dependent on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Beyond base pay, Apple employees have access to

Responsibilities In this role, you'll be managing some of the most complex, high-stakes program deliveries in the consumer technology space. From shaping requirements to coordinating across a dozen stakeholder groups to shipping features used by hundreds of millions of people, every day brings a different challenge that demands both

strategic thinking

and precise execution.

Lead delivery

of business-critical features built for the App Store ecosystem, from scoping through to launch

Collaborate cross-functionally

with Engineering, Product, Design, QA, Legal, Privacy, Trust & Safety, and Operations teams

Manage pipelines

to support new App Store features and drive all aspects of large, cross-functional projects

Define and write

business, functional, and reporting requirements for features targeting Apple Developer and Customer experiences

Track and manage

scope, timelines,



resource allocation, stakeholder communications, and risk assessments across multiple concurrent projects

Improve processes

for how App Store features are built and executed, identifying efficiencies and surfacing risks early

Leverage AI tools

to optimise recurring tasks and derive operational efficiency across program workflows

Requirements / Skills Apple is looking for a candidate who brings both technical depth and strong program management fundamentals. The ideal person can operate independently in a fast-moving environment, communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, and has a genuine interest in the developer and consumer ecosystem that the App Store serves.

5+ years of technical program and/or project management experience

involving complex server/client interactions

Track record of building products

by driving collaboration across product, design, engineering, QA, operations, and other key stakeholders

Technical background

in software application architecture and development — this is described as extremely helpful

BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field , or at least 5+ years of comparable experience

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

with the ability to turn ambiguous or conflicting inputs into solid action plans

Excellent written and verbal communication skills , including the ability to present to all levels of an organisation and facilitate requirements, design, and status meetings

Experience with iOS app development

is a major asset; experience in

game development or the games industry

is an added plus

Experience using AI tools

to optimise recurring tasks and improve operational efficiency

BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field, or at least 5+ years of comparable experience. Technical background with software application architecture and development. Experience with iOS app development. Experience in game development or other games industry background is an added plus. Bonus points for past programming experience.
