Type of Position: Full time, PermanentHours per Week: 40Employment Conditions: Day Morning, Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30pmExtended health care planGroup insurance benefitLife InsuranceFree parking availableTeam building opportunitiesTravel allowanceDiscretionary bonusOn-site customer serviceCold/refrigeratedWork SettingResearch and development plantFactory or food processing plantOfficeWork Conditions and Physical CapabilitiesFast-paced environmentWork under pressureCombination of sitting, standing, and walkingAbility to work in research centre, pilot plant, factory/plant, office, and customer-site environments as requiredTasksMaintain equipment work areas to safety standards.Prepare professional business documents using Microsoft Word.Assist in developing programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standardsAssist in development of standards, health and safety measuresCompile records and interpret experimental or analytical resultsDevelop and conduct programs of sampling and analysisDevelop manufacturing and processing proceduresEnsure safety procedures are followedCollaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needsRespond to customer inquiries and requestsRepresent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functionsReview and adapt information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditionsApply quality control procedureEnsure compliance and adherence with government regulationsWrite specifications and technical reportsConduct tests to ensure quality or detect defectsProvide advice and training to users in response to identified difficultiesProvide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit client's needsOperate testing equipment to maintain quality of productsProvide technical and professional adviceAnalyze equipment readings and production test samplesRecommend measures to improve productivity and product qualityConduct research in field of specializationDevelop quality management and quality assurance standardsAnalyze technical documents and reportsPrepare reportsEvaluate efficiency of production sites to determine adequacy of personnel, equipment and technologies usedMonitor and optimize chemical processes for processing unitsCheck and monitor product qualityResponsibilitiesSupport research and development activities focused on improving food processing technologies and industrial food manufacturing processes.Participate in design and execute R&D, pilot-scale, and commercial-scale validation studies for new product development projects.Evaluate new food processing technologies and recommend improvements to processing methods and equipment performance and product quality.Develop, validate and optimize food processing procedures to improve product quality, yield, efficiency, food safety, and sustainability.Conduct testing, pilot-scale trials, and commercial-scale validation activities for food processing applications.Perform technical analysis of food microstructure, texture, rheology, process performance, and product stability.Analyze test results and prepare technical recommendations to support process optimization and commercial applications.Prepare technical reports, validation protocols, scientific documentation, and process recommendations.Support the development and implementation of quality assurance and validation procedures for new food processing technologies.Operate, maintain, and calibrate product development and plant equipment used in food processing trials and validation activities.Support commercialization activities through customer trials, product demonstrations, and technical evaluations.Provide technical expertise during equipment installation, commissioning, and process optimization at customer facilities.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales,



and service teams to support innovative food processing solutions.Evaluate emerging food processing technologies and identify opportunities for process improvement and new product development.Maintain and develop quality control and validation documentation and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.Provide technical training and support to customers and internal teams.Represent CMP at industry conferences, technical meetings, and customer presentations as required.Qualifications/SkillsBachelor's degree in food technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, Nutrition, or a related scientific discipline.Minimum 3 years of experience in food process development, food technology in industrial food manufacturing.Robust understanding of food science, process optimization, food safety systems, and quality management principles.Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, ISO standards, GMP, and regulatory compliance requirements.Experience with statistical analysis software and experimental design methodologies.Demonstrated experience conducting pilot-plant and commercial-scale food processing trials.Experience supporting new product development, technology validation, commercialization, and customer implementation projects.Strong technical writing, project management, and communication skills.Ability to work with minimum supervision in a cross-functional team environment.Ability to travel internationally to support customer projects and technical initiatives.Experience and SpecializationArea of work experienceResearch and developmentTesting and AnalysisFood processingQuality AssuranceTechnical ExperienceProcessing MethodsFood chemistryTechnical Reporting/ DocumentationManufacturing Sector ExperienceFoodPersonal SuitabilityAccurateJudgementOrganizedVersatilityProactiveTeam playerTime managementClient focusEfficient interpersonal skillsReliabilityFPS Food Process Solutions Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
