BDO Tax is looking for Tax Trainees to join their team.ResponsibilitiesAs part of your 3-year SAIT registered Traineeship you will get exposure to the following:Assist the tax team with preparation and submission of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trustsPreparation of first, second and third provisional returnsCalculation of tax liabilities and finalisation of income taxPayroll taxVAT returns, registrations, and opinionsIdentifying tax risks for audits on a multi-disciplinary basisSupport in conducting tax audits and investigations, liaising with tax authorities as necessaryDraft response to SARS queriesWrite tax opinions and reportsDemonstrate ethics and professional conduct in a tax environmentRegister taxpayers and finalise income tax, payroll tax and VAT returns in a private tax practiceDraft memorandum and formulate responses to Alternative Dispute ResolutionsWrite tax opinions related to tax disputes, business models and investment and estate planningDraft VDP ApplicationsParticipate in research and analysis of tax legislation,



regulations and case law to ensure accurate and up-to-date tax adviceCollaborate with senior tax professionals to identify tax planning opportunities and potential risks for clientsDraft articlesParticipate in training sessions, workshops, and career development opportunities to enhance technical skills and industry knowledgeQualificationsSenior Certificate and relevant B.Com degreeApplicants must have completed or still studying towards Taxation or equivalentSound Knowledge of the Tax legislation and Tax lawCompetenciesExcellent communications and listening skillsProfessionalismStrong client orientationAttention to detailCreative yet organisedAbility to prioritize and work under pressure achieving reporting deadlinesTask driven and delivery focusedSocially aware and able to work as part of a diverse teamInnovative and willing to share ideas for new ways of workingAbility to work with all levels within an organization
