A growing company is looking to bring on a detail-oriented Accountant (Thornhill) to support its finance operations.This position plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and smooth day-to-day accounting processes. The successful candidate will manage core accounting functions including payables, receivables, payroll coordination, and reconciliations, while maintaining organized and reliable financial records.What You'll Be Responsible For:Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including transaction recording, account classification, and documentationOversee accounts payable and receivable cycles, ensuring timely processing and accuracyPerform regular bank and account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies when neededMaintain and update the general ledger, including preparation of trial balancesSupport month-end and year-end closing activitiesPrepare financial summaries and reports to support internal decision-makingEnsure adherence to applicable financial regulations and internal controlsHandle documentation and record-keeping to maintain audit-ready filesAssist with invoicing,



payment collection, and financial tracking processesSupport payroll-related activities and basic HR administrative functionsCollaborate with internal teams to address financial inquiries and provide supportWhat We're Looking For:8+ years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping or accounting rolesFamiliarity with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, or similar systems is an assetStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office toolsSolid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reportingHigh attention to detail with robust organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independentlyStrong communication skills — both written and verbalProblem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound financial judgmentsEducation & CredentialsDegree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related disciplineCPA designation (or in progress) is considered an asset, but not required
