This position offers the opportunity to participate in construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The shift is planned to be 21 days on and 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days. While the preference is to hire candidates who resides locally, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Calgary, Albertawill be available based on eligibility.Job DescriptionDuties & Responsibilities:Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and proceduresRead and interpret blueprints or welding process specificationsOperate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW),



resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipmentOperate brazing and soldering equipmentOperate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machinesRepair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers.Operate previously set up welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal partsOperate previously set up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal parts or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal articles with solderStart up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production lineAssist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipmentMay adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications.Other duties as requiredQualificationsB-Pressure certification from ABSA or equivalentAble to weld pipe with E6010 single sidedHave welding tickets all position P1-P15 materialHave welding ticket all position structural welding from CWBAble to read and understand project welding procedures & NDE recordsAble to do visual inspection of his/her own weld after completion of weldingAble to check weld fillet gauges as required by drawingsAble to check preheat and interpass temperature requirementsStrong technical knowledge and proven experience as a Rig WelderExperience in an industrial setting requiredAs part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver's Abstract.
