Job Summary: The Demo Centre Lead Hand supports the daily operation of the Demo Centre and provides operational leadership across demo rentals, equipment service and repairs, boot fitting, Learn to Turn equipment and sales, and retail sales.

Working under the direction of the Demo Centre Supervisor and Alpine Rentals Manager, the Lead Hand assists with staff coordination, equipment and inventory management, guest service, sales procedures, equipment servicing, and maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready facility.

In the absence of the Demo Centre Supervisor or Alpine Rentals Manager,



the Lead Hand provides day-to-day operational direction, addresses issues as they arise, and ensures staff and daily operational requirements are effectively managed.

Role Responsibilities

- Assist with the daily coordination of Demo Centre staff and operations, including breaks, assignments, and shift sign-in/out.
- Provide direction, support, and leadership to staff while maintaining a positive, qualified team environment.
- Ensure staff maintain appropriate uniforms, professional standards, and productive duties throughout the day.
- Complete daily operational tasks and ensure the Demo Centre is clean, organized, fully prepared, and guest-ready by 8:00 a.m.
- Operate and support the Axess POS and rental dispatch system, ensuring accurate equipment dispatch, tracking, returns, and records.
- Conduct daily equipment audits and ensure Axess procedures, rental documentation, work orders, and inventory records are completed accurately.
- Coordinate demo equipment servicing and maintenance, including tuning, waxing, preparation, and organization.
- Assist guests with equipment selection and proper boot fitting while maintaining high equipment and service standards.
- Assist with retail sales, daily cash-outs, receiving and counting inventory, and monthly inventory control procedures.
- Maintain exceptional guest service and ensure the Demo Centre and exterior areas are clean, safe, organized,



and professionally presented.
- Identify and address operational issues affecting guest service, safety, staffing, equipment, or department efficiency, and communicate concerns to the appropriate Manager or Supervisor.
- Follow all Mount Washington Alpine Resort policies, procedures, and safety standards, and complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in rental, retail, guest service, or another high-volume environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.
- Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing operational demands, and provide direction to others.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and safety standards.
- Previous experience with POS, Axess, rental management, or equipment tracking systems is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of ski and/or snowboard equipment and basic equipment servicing is an asset.
