Career Opportunities with Brockville General HospitalA excellent place to work.Current job opportunities are posted here as they become available.Housekeeping Aide - Environmental Services - Temporary Part-TimeStatus: Temporary Part-time ( up to 6 months with possibility of extension)Union Association : CUPESalary: $26.86 - $27.28/hourHours: 0900-1700/1500-2300/2300-0700/0700-1500 weekdays and weekends (may include holidays) (subject to change based on operational needs)Position Summary:Responsible for maintaining assigned patient or non/patient care area of the Hospital in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with established cleaning protocols and infection control guidelines.Responsible for cleaning project work, garbage collection, furniture moving and room set-up as required.Requirements:Education and Experience:Demonstrated ability to read, understand and follow written instructions; to perform basic arithmetic calculations to determine appropriate proportions for mixing cleaning products and solutions; and the ability to prepare routine written reports normally acquired through the completion of a secondary school graduation diploma and a minimum of 1 (one) year experience or equivalent.Ability to relate in a tactful and sensitive manner with staff, patients,



volunteers and visitors.Preference will be given to those individuals who have had related cleaning/housekeeping experience and have successfully worked as a member of a workplace team.Ability to operate and use cleaning equipment such as Autoscrubber, scrubber, vacuum, floor polishers, steam cleaner.Knowledge, Skills and Responsibilities:Work requires demonstrated time management and organizational skills to complete assigned tasks and carry out work routines with limited direct supervision.Essential duties of the position requires prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling and lifting (to 50 pounds), climbing, bending and reaching.Work requires knowledge of cleaning products, methods and techniques,Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a teamFlexibility to modify routines as required to manage changing prioritiesAbility to successfully complete WHIMIS, product and equipment handling safety programs as a condition of employmentWear protective aids when required by Health and Safety to perform the jobResponsible for furniture moving, room set up if required, and the collection of garbage, waste and soiled linenParticipate in cycle cleaning project work such as window washing, floor stripping, etc.
