The Video Apps team at Apple is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a background in video/photo editing to contribute to the development of innovative tools for creative professionals, video makers, and visual storytellers.This role requires a highly proactive individual with strong creative, technical, and analytic skills and a passion for recent technologies related to computer vision and on-device machine learning.ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, write, maintain, and execute end-to-end test cases manually and through automation using Swift and PythonDrive all aspects of quality and process improvements to help the team ensure features are ready for releaseReport bugs with outstanding isolation and regression techniquesBalance a wide variety of deliverables, managing priorities and communicating progress and risks effectivelyTranslate user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements into effective test plans and casesLeverage AI-powered tools to accelerate test script development and reduce manual effortWork closely with other team members to help coordinate multi-functional test effortsMinimum Qualifications5+ years of experience in QA/QEMinimum of 1+ years experience as a Software Engineer in TestProgramming in Python and/or Swift to prototype features, create test apps, and test with internal toolsProficiency in testing mobile/desktop apps, and backend/APIsUnderstanding of the software development lifecycle, SQA testing methodologies, terminology and processesProven bug detection, isolation, and regression skillsAble to extract user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements, translating them into effective test plans and casesStrong familiarity with iOS and macOSBS in Computer Science, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience in digital photography and video, with proficiency in editing tools for both mediaMeticulous, analytical, methodical and creative problem solver committed to driving quality forwardThrives in a collaborative, fast-paced and dynamic organization 7+ years of QA/QE experience; minimum 1+ year as a Software Engineer in Test; programming in Python and/or Swift; proficiency in testing mobile/desktop apps and backend/APIs; strong familiarity withiOS and macOS; BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
