Ryanson Transport is looking for an experienced Flatdeck / Stepdeck Dispatcher to join our transportation team.

This is an opportunity for a motivated transportation professional who understands the flatdeck and stepdeck market, knows how to find and negotiate profitable freight, and can keep drivers and customers moving efficiently.

THE ROLE The successful candidate will be responsible for dispatching Flatdeck and Stepdeck equipment throughout Canada and the USA, including full loads and LTL freight.

You will work closely with drivers, customers, brokers, and operations to maximize equipment utilization, minimize empty miles, and provide reliable service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Dispatch and coordinate Flatdeck / Stepdeck trucks throughout Canada and the USA
- Source, book, and negotiate freight loads
- Manage LTL and multi-stop shipments
- Plan productive routes and maximize truck utilization
- Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointments, and special requirements
- Communicate clearly with drivers throughout the day
- Monitor shipments and proactively resolve service issues
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and brokers
- Negotiate rates and ensure profitable freight decisions
- Track equipment, driver availability, and hours of service
- Maintain accurate dispatch and load documentation
- Coordinate with operations and management to ensure smooth daily operations

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of transportation dispatch experience preferred
- Strong experience with Flatdeck / Stepdeck freight




- Experience dispatching Canada & USA freight
- Strong understanding of LTL and partial-load freight
- Experience with load boards, including Loadlink, is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation operations
- Excellent rate negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office
- Bilingual — English plus Punjabi is an asset
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
