THL Gourmet Foods Inc. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. To fulfill our operational needs, we are currently recruiting a driver to make local deliveries for our BC division.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and safety-minded Full time Driver to support our BC operations.

In this role, you will deliver food products to restaurants and retail stores throughout Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Most routes are within Metro Vancouver, with a regional Vancouver Island route generally scheduled approximately 1-2 times per week.

This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys driving, staying active throughout the workday, interacting with customers, and working as part of a supportive operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a 5-ton straight truck in accordance with Company procedures and applicable transportation and road-safety requirements.
- Complete scheduled deliveries to restaurants, grocery stores, and other customer locations throughout Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island.
- Load and unload products safely and efficiently according to the assigned delivery schedule.
- Perform regular manual unloading, including hand-bombing products and lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Operate delivery equipment such as lift gates, electric power jacks, and hand pump jacks, where available.
- Verify delivered products against invoices and delivery documents to help prevent discrepancies.
- Obtain customer confirmations or signatures and complete required delivery records.
- Collect cash or cheque payments for COD orders when required and follow established handling procedures.
- Provide professional, courteous, and dependable service at each customer location.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns.
- Communicate with Dispatch regarding delivery status, delays, customer concerns, or changes to the assigned route.
- Work collaboratively with the Dispatch, Warehouse,



and Maintenance teams.
- Perform other related delivery duties as reasonably assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

- A valid full BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence, or an equivalent licence eligible for transfer to BC.
- A satisfactory driving record acceptable to the Company and its insurer.
- The appropriate licence and endorsement required for the assigned vehicle.
- Previous delivery-driving or commercial-driving experience is preferred; however, training may be provided to a suitable candidate.
- Confidence operating, or the ability to learn to operate, a 5-ton straight truck.
- Ability to safely perform regular manual unloading and repeatedly lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate in English at the level required to follow safety instructions, interact with customers, and complete delivery documentation.
- A dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious approach to work.
- Strong customer-service and teamwork skills.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves: The following experience would be helpful but is not required:

- Previous experience operating a 5-ton truck.
- Experience using lift gates, electric power jacks, or hand pump jacks.
- Food-service, grocery, retail, or multi-stop delivery experience.
- Experience handling invoices, customer signatures, or COD payments.

Working Hours:

- Permanent, full-time position.
- 40 hours per week for five days’ work between Monday and Saturday.
- Regular shift hours are approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
- The exact schedule and start time may vary depending on the assigned route and operational requirements.




- Available to start work as 4:00am for traveling to Vancouver Island is generally required approximately 1-2 times per week.
- Occasional overtime may be required due to delivery volumes, ferry schedules, traffic, weather, or other operational needs. Overtime will be compensated in accordance with applicable requirements.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Expected base hourly wage: $18.66 – $27.96
