Our client, Rocky View Bus is a nonprofit organization committed to delivering inclusive, door to door transportation for individuals facing barriers to conventional transit - whether due to mobility challenges, health conditions, or personal circumstances. We are proud to serve communities throughout Rocky View County, including Cochrane, Chestermere, Crossfield, Irricana, and Beiseker.

As a Driver, you’ll make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of community members. You’ll provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for individuals accessing essential services - medical appointments, lab work, therapeutic sessions, drop‑in programs, and everyday needs such as groceries and banking - with particular care for those experiencing mobility challenges. This role calls for a robust commitment to customer service, safety, and respectful engagement with people from diverse backgrounds.

This position offers approximately 30 - 40 hours per week, with availability required between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The starting wage is $22 per hour, with a training wage of $17 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate vehicles safely and professionally, following all traffic laws, legislation and organizational policies and procedures while providing timely transportation to scheduled destinations.
- Have daily frequent communication with the dispatching team regarding trips, routes, updates, breaks, changes, vehicle maintenance and incidents.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting providing door to door service, ensuring comfort and safety at every step. At times, assisting passengers with packages (up to 20 lbs).
- Secure passengers using seatbelts, wheelchair tie-downs, and other safety equipment.
- Maintain a courteous and respectful presence with all passengers and members of the public. Build a positive relationship with passengers, families, caregivers and community partners on an ongoing basis.




- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain fluid levels, and report maintenance needs while accurately completing all documentation using forms and electronic tools.
- Ensure the vehicle is always clean, throughout the day with frequent checks and quick cleaning activities are expected. Each vehicle should have a deep clean inside and outside every week.
- Submit accurate timesheets by the designated deadline to ensure payroll has the necessary information for timely and correct processing.
- Other duties as required that are not limited to items such as running additional errands and tasks within the office.

Qualifications:

- Valid Class 4, 2, or 1 Alberta Driver’s License
- Clean 5-year Driver’s Abstract and Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
- Exceptionally comfortable with driving in all weather conditions and across rural and urban areas (including Calgary and downtown areas).
- Experience assisting individuals with special needs or mobility challenges often independently but also encompassing a team oriented and collaborative work environment.
- Comfortable with a range of physical tasks: sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Highly adaptable and flexible to changing schedules and locations daily with being calm and composed under pressure - no road rage, even in high-traffic situations.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using technology, including mobile apps, tablets, smartphones, and email, to support scheduling, communication, navigation, and documentation tasks in a fast-paced environment.
