The role demands exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. Advanced financial management skills - including budgeting, HR and payroll systems, and data analysis - are essential to support strategic planning, reporting, and continuous improvement. The Leader manages a small team using a coach-like approach that fosters growth, accountability, and collaboration. Responsibilities include mentoring staff,
managing competing priorities under pressure and on time, and guiding administrative teams on vendor setup, payment procedures, and database use. The role also serves as a liaison with physicians, Medical Affairs, Accounts Payable, the University of Calgary, and government agencies. Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, payroll and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Oracle systems. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance; significant related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Solid leadership skills with comfort in decision-making, coaching, and mentoring in a dynamic environment. Ability to manage complex, time-sensitive, and competing priorities under pressure. Demonstrated discretion, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential matters.Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to interpret and apply organizational policies and procedures in a complex administrative environment. Experience providing training and guidance to administrative staff on financial and contract-related processes. Familiarity with physician onboarding, privileging, and contract lifecycle management.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements. Experience in change management and leading process improvement initiatives.
