Our client is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join their engineering team and support the delivery of complex new construction projects within a heavy industrial manufacturing workplace.

This role will be involved throughout the full engineering lifecycle—from requirements definition and design development through analysis, material selection, engineering execution, and project close-out. Responsibilities

- Provide electrical engineering and design support for assigned Electrical Power Systems, including preparing design packages, calculations, and technical documentation to meet contractual and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain key electrical engineering deliverables, including Electrical Load Lists, Single Line Diagrams, Cable Diagrams, Instrumentation and Controls Lists, Interface Control Diagrams, and termination and wiring diagrams.
- Participate in all phases of new construction projects, including requirements decomposition, design preparation, supporting analysis, engineering execution, and project close-out.
- Conduct formal and informal trade studies and technical evaluations to develop efficient engineering solutions, resolve complex technical challenges, and identify opportunities to reduce material and project costs.
- Develop material specifications and Bills of Material (BOMs) in accordance with established material strategies, engineering standards, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams while providing technical guidance, mentoring,



and engineering support, ensuring work is delivered safely, accurately, and in accordance with project schedules and quality requirements.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems.
- Experience working in a heavy industrial environment is required; experience within a shipyard, marine, manufacturing, or similar complex industrial environment is considered an asset.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical power systems, controls, instrumentation, engineering design, and technical documentation, with the ability to develop practical solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to gather, evaluate, synthesize, and validate technical information and make sound engineering decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce explicit technical specifications, procedures, calculations, reports, and engineering documentation, and effectively collaborate with integrated project teams.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, influence and mentor others, manage competing priorities, and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, while maintaining a high standard of safety and proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering management systems.

Pay: $40-47 per/hour On-site 5 days per week in North Vancouver, BC
