Program: Environment Office of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation
Reports to: Energy Manager
Accountable to : Senior Manager, Saugeen Ojibway Nation Environment Office
Terms of Employment: Full Time Permanent/Part
Salary : $53,000 to $63,000
Hours of Work : 37.5 hours per week (some evenings and weekend may be periodically required)
Job Location : Wiarton, Ontario (Not work from home)
Anticipated Start Date : Immediately
Closing Date : October 12, 2026.

Required Experience
Min number of 1 year in the Energy Administration
Min number of 3 years of experience in review and response to technical writing for regulatory documents
Recommended Experience
Equivalent of 5 years of experience in a related technical field
Equivalent of 5 of experience in a Resources and Infrastructure Management environment
Post Secondary Diploma/Degree in Energy or Environmental Management or related field is an asset
Understanding of SON Territory rights, interests and culture.
Experience in Google Workspace

Coordinate meetings and activities between SON and proponents.
Assist with the coordination and implementation of community engagement processes related to the Project
Assist with preparation of communication that supports the free, prior, and informed consent of the SON Communities.
Ensure that all meetings and processes are documented.
Administer, monitor and follow-up on any outstanding action items derived from the Nuclear Advisory Committee
Possess the ability to understand SON agreements and how they impact our responses
Assist with initiatives to ensure SON’s Aboriginal and treaty rights, interests and concerns are addressed through duty to consult process
Work productively with SONEO team members, SON Joint Council members and committees, proponents, government and non-government agencies, legal and other key individuals
Produce and transfer technical documents for external audience and community
Attend community engagement sessions as a representative of the SON EO that support Energy projects
Attend workshops, conferences and other professional development opportunities to build on ecological, technical and legislative knowledge
Adhere to all SON policies & procedures, including Health & Safety guidelines
Respect the confidentiality of SON, the community and employee informations
