You'll play an important role in bothstudent instruction and the day-to-day operation of the centre.The OpportunityThis is anin-person, part-time positionwith the potential to grow into a full-time role as student enrolment increases.You will work closely with the Centre Manager and Education Coordinator and will be responsible for a combination of teaching, student support, parent communication, administration, and team leadership.Your ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Student SupportTeach students in small-group settings approximately 2–3 times per weekEstablish and oversee individualized student learning programsSet up and administer student assessmentsSupport students in developing stronger learning skills, confidence, and independenceCreate a fun, positive, and energetic learning environmentManage a variety of learning styles, abilities, and classroom behavioursCentre Operations & AdministrationParticipate in opening and closing routinesMaintain a clean, organized, and welcoming centreSupport the day-to-day operations of the centreUse Google Workspace and other software effectivelyLearn and implement the Oxford Learning teaching philosophyHelp coach and support other members of the teaching teamParents & CommunityCommunicate with parents about student progress and learning needsMeet with parents to discuss their child's developmentRespond to inquiries and explain Oxford Learning programs to prospective familiesFollow up with prospective clients by phone and other communication channelsBuild positive relationships with families and members of the communityWho We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is:Outgoing and personableFun, energetic, and enthusiastic about working with kidsReliable, flexible, and willing to take initiativeA quick learner who is comfortable trying new thingsOpen to constructive feedback and continuous improvementAdaptable and comfortable working with different teaching and management stylesComfortable communicating with parents by phone, email, and in personProficient with technology, including Google Workspace, and able to learn new software and AI platformsComfortable working with students and families from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, and lifestylesPositive, professional, and committed to creating an inclusive environmentMust-Have QualificationsUniversity degree in English, Math, or Science (social sciences included)Strong knowledge of theBC Math and Science curriculum for Grades 8–12, including: Math and PhysicsExcellent written and verbal English communication skillsExperience working in an educational and/or business environmentMinimum 2 years of customer service experienceAvailability forafternoons/evenings Monday–Thursday and Saturday morningsAbility to commute to the centre for all scheduled shiftsA vulnerable sector criminal record check is mandatory.This is an in-person position. There is no relocation package.Nice-to-Have QualificationsThe following experience or qualifications are considered an asset:BC teaching certification and/or Bachelor of EducationFrench and/or Punjabi (equivalent to English levels)Experience supporting students with learning differences, including ADHD, ASD, FASD, MID, dyslexia, and other specific learning disabilitiesPrevious experience in tutoring, teaching, educational leadership, or program coordinationSchedule & CompensationJob Type:
